My husband wouldn't like it!

Wed 20th May

Great ride to Apatin, just south of Hungarian border. 63 miles and great little hotel Zlatna Kruna right beside the Danube.

Stopped at petrol station for a drink. Two lovely girls running the station saw me arrive on bicycle, and start asking me about my trip.  "Where do you sleep?" asked one.

"With you if you like" I replied.

"My husband wouldn't like it" she said.

"We wont tell him!"  - she blushed and laughed.  Oh to be 30 years younger.

Thanks to everyone who has made contribution.  Great to hear from you all and keeps me going to halfway stop to meet Sweetheart!  I hear that the weather in UK not so good, it's very good here, although it gets too warm for cycling later in the day; well into 80's.

  1. Hey Mr Bish! Rach just gave me your details... all very impressive. I have a wonderful vision of you flying thru the Slavic states in your Union jack shorts (??).

Puts my cycling to work into perspective, though the views across the Brooklyn Bridge this am were especially "awesome" as the yankee doodles like to say.

Mala (sprog no 1., aged 8 coming on 18) and I did the 42 mile NYC bike tour the other week in the pouring fucking rain. She was in a tag-along and did extremely well until we got onto a rather exposed flyover where she burst into tears and announced she 'wanted to go home'..

I can't recall if you are a gadget freak but if you have GPS start sending your references so I can follow on Google Earth. (If that makes no sense, please ignore).

    Pedal on!

  2. The thought of Bish leering at these girls in the garage ad rolling his eyes as he flirts with them is not attractive.

As for him enabling his GPS to send routes to Nick in NY brings visions of a furrowed brow and perplexed utterances.

Who remembers the hand held computerised notebook he had which was never mastered and reputably 'lost' whenever we enquired about progress. One night in the pub I found that one could get the lighting up times in Kinshassa and various other places in the world. Perhaps you should have taken it on this trip Bish.

Anyway, good to see you are enjoying the trip and that things ae going well.

    Best wishes

    Burdy

  3. Trying to upload photographs onto blog has got me with a furrowed brow, let alone me trying to operate GPS. Good to hear from both Nick and Birdy.
Hope all well in New York.
    It's pretty hot here.
